hello world!

2021 MBBF has been postponed due to pandemic

Welcome Back to our Website. We are adding new Matagorda County bird photographs and celebrating the 2020 winners in the Youth Art Contest, which we did complete before the Pandemic caused the big reset of 2020!

Although we could not mark the winning entries with the traditional concert and Awards Ceremony due to Covid 19 restrictions on public gatherings, we did have the student work on the Roseate Spoonbill collected and judged in time to hand out nine student awards in three distinct age groups along with fifty age appropriate books for all 50 students who placed as honorary mentions. Thank you if you or your student(s) participated in depicting the Roseate Spoonbill in its local habitat!!! Also thanks goes out to all the teachers and volunteers who participated in the county wide 2020 Youth Art Contest. We will be ready to announce the 2022 rules and select bird of interest on mid October, 2021 to prepare for the Spring of 2022.

It may come as no surprise to you reading that The Matagorda Bay Birdfest will be cancelled this year of 2021. We will be watching advisory news on the Pandemic and hope to be ready to celebrate with you and a full program in March 2022. We are planning on moving our guest reservations to next years venue in the hopes that you are able to participate. Save The Date if you are able to join us during the weekend of March 18,19,20, 2022. If you cannot foresee that and need a refund, please let us know in writing.
